My name is Pintipa Suebsang hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from Bangkok University (2003–2007). Immediately after completing my undergraduate degree, I pursued a Master’s in English as an International Language at The University of Melbourne, Australia (2008–2010). Following my master’s studies, I embarked on my academic career as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, where I have been teaching since 2011.
Throughout my teaching career, I recognised the need for deeper expertise in education. In 2014, I was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at Monash University, Australia, which I successfully completed in 2019. My thesis examines the uptake of dialogic teaching and learning in the context of an English language teacher education writing course in Thailand through the introduction of a genre-based pedagogical approach. The sociocultural constructs of appropriation and mediation are used as a frame for conceptualising teacher educators’ and pre-service teachers’ teaching and learning identities as mediated by their experiences, and as related to their actual teaching and learning practices. The findings indicate the necessity of providing a bridge for both teacher educators and pre-service teachers in settings of transmissive teaching to work effectively towards more dialogic teaching approaches.
Upon completing my doctorate, I resumed my teaching responsibilities at the Faculty of Education and various other departments and institutes within the university. Additionally, I have served as a research advisor for classroom research projects, guiding pre-service teachers in developing their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills through research and experiential learning.
Aside from teaching, I am committed to lifelong learning, as I strongly believe it is essential for adapting to the evolving educational landscape. To continuously enhance my expertise, I have actively participated in professional development programs, particularly in English language communication, innovative learning approaches, English language teaching methodologies, and modern instructional media. These experiences have allowed me to refine my teaching strategies to meet the needs of today’s learners effectively.
Each academic degree I have obtained has provided me with a solid foundation of in-depth knowledge and theoretical perspectives essential for enhancing teaching and learning. At the same time, my professional experience has helped me develop a comprehensive understanding of both teaching and learning processes, allowing me to design educational experiences that genuinely cater to students’ needs.
I firmly believe that lifelong learning is a crucial factor in professional growth, as it enables educators to stay aligned with educational trends and innovations. This, in turn, has a direct impact on the quality and success of teaching practices. As a dedicated educator and researcher, my ultimate goal is to foster student development through a balanced approach that integrates theory and practice, ensuring that learning is meaningful, engaging, and a strong foundation for producing competent individuals who contribute positively to society.
